Teaching That Sticks

Teaching That Sticks

July 23, 2014

Chip & Dan Heath, co-authors of several books including the best-selling "Made to Stick" unpacked why some ideas die and others survive.  Suriving ideas or ideas they refer to as "sticky", have 6 traits that make them sticky:

1.  Simple

2.  Unexpected

3.  Credible

4.  Concrete

5.  Emotional

6.  Story

This simple "SUCCES" acronym can help make any idea, presentation or talk, well more sticky in the minds of your audience.  The Heath brothers now apply those concepts to the art of teaching in their article "Teaching That Sticks".  I thought I would share it here as our teachers are wading through summer and will eventually look to re-start the next school year with the hopes that this article provides them a great framework for renewing their craft.
